PensterDocs – Pet records, service locator, and interactive pet community

Having a pet is a huge responsibility, as many of you are already well aware. This also includes keeping a track of your pet’s health records and vet schedule, besides numerous other things.

For those of us who are willing to turn to digital assistance, this usually means creating a calendar entry to keep us reminded. However, there are other ways to stay on top of things, as you will see in this article.

We will talk about an application designed to help you keep track of important stuff about your pet. It is called PensterDocs, available for iOS and Android, and it comes free of charge (without any in-app purchase options). Continue reading to learn more.

PensterDocs is a combination of your pet’s digital health vault and following other people on the app’s own social network. The first thing you will need to do when you open the app for the first time is to enter some information. This includes your pet’s name, age, gender and weight, breed, license, and microchip information. You can add as many new entries as you want, so you are not limited in any way.

The app has three main parts, as noticeable in the top-positioned toolbar. These are: My Pets, Community, and Services. The first section is where you see information that you previously entered. The screen will show your pet’s photo, along with user-entered information, and two sections at the bottom: Records, and Notes. Records and Notes as user-managed as well, and this is where you can see past and upcoming events like vet schedule and anything else that you previously entered.

Finally, there’s a social aspect to PensterDocs. This is like a social network for pets, where you can post photos and statuses. You can be also friends with other people and follow their pics. I guess this could be a good way for your pet to find a new playmate.

This way, you can be reminded before a vaccination term expires.
Along the main tools, you will also see the Services tab. This is a good way to see your local vets and other pet-related businesses. There are two views: Map, and List. I find this to be probably the most useful part of the app, especially for frequent travelers. Anyone who travels with their dog or cat knows how nerve-wrecking it can be to find a vet in an unknown area. Now you can simply open a map and find the one that is closest to you.

At the moment, you can search through veterinarians, kennels, groomers, dog parks, and rescue centers. Each entry contains a phone number and directions, with responsive actions so you don’t have to remember numbers and addresses.

In conclusion

PensterDocs is definitely a handy app to have, which I think is especially true for those of you who own several pets. Even though there are other ways to stay organized and find vets in an unknown area, having all of these features in one place can make your life easier. App Store Link
