Clash Royale will blast your life and here is why

A few weeks ago, I had dinner with my wife and kids in a beautiful restaurant. It was Friday night, and the restaurant was almost full. Luckily, a tall brunet hostess found us a table in a part of the restaurant where most of the guests was parents with kids.

We took our seats around the table and ordered our usual favorite meals. After some time, I noticed that most of the kids around us were playing Clash Royale.

I have to admit that I have never seen something like that in my life. It was pretty strange to me but not to my son. He’s 15, and he told me that almost all his friends at school, including him, play this game. I was curious about the game so I downloaded Clash Royale immediately.

Supercell did it again

At the beginning of 2016, a Finish mobile game studio, Supercell released its 4th title – Clash Royale. After less than two months on Apple AppStore and Google Play, this game succeeded in becoming the top grossing game in the world and it reached the first place on the charts.

Supercell has already made a huge success with its Clash of Clans, but the newest mobile game success is as fast as light and it achieves $80 million in net earnings. In gross numbers, with Apple and Google commissions, it means that users have spent nearly $110 million dollars to play Clash Royale.

These numbers are enormous, but they are expecting, even more, earnings, since these figures do not include Chinese Android market. (Google Play doesn’t work in China, so this game will be distributed on Chinese app market thru Supercell partner company Kunlun).

In case you are one of those who haven’t joined the army of addictive Clash Royale players yet, and still don’t know what it is all about, here is a short overview.

The developer has used their experience from Hay Day and Clash of Clans and built an excellent combination of two game types: card games and tower defense games.

From the visual point of view, the game looks outstanding. They have borrowed some of the characters from the previous title, but it is not decreasing the value of the look, just the opposite.

What is Clash Royale and how to play?

Basically, everything is about collecting game cards in three playing decks. Each of the playing cards has its own strengths and abilities but also some weakness. Playing the game, players collect the cards with an upgrading option.

Of course, to upgrade them, a player needs coins that can be achieved playing or purchasing with real money using in-app purchase option.

Deeply under the sleek surface, there is an incredible fusion of different algorithms which run this game and make it so addictive.

Despite many other games, Clash Royale has a perfectly tuned gameplay that allows players to play this game without paying single cent and enjoy as much as others who will spend a few dollars or more in power-ups.

Believe it or not, there is a case that some of the top players have spent up to $30.000 in this game! You are right, and it’s insane.

Bottom line

So, I’ve been playing this game since that evening in the restaurant. I downloaded it with the idea just to prepare the review. But, after some time of daily playing I have figured out that I’m hooked on the addictive gameplay.

There aren’t many apps or games that stay much longer after the testing, but Clash Royale isn’t one of them.
